Silver
Pure silver is too soft for most uses and is often alloyed. Though many metals may be used, copper is preferred since is greatly toughens the alloy without detracting from the bright shine characteristic of silver.
Sterling Silver
Is the alloy most commonly used in jewelry making and silversmithing. It contains 925 units of silver and 75 units of copper.
Gold
Like silver in its purity the gold is too soft for most uses and it is alloyed with other metals to achieve a desired hardness. Silver and copper are the two most common additives but other metals can be used too.
The relative amount of gold in the alloy will determine the Karat.
12K is 50% pure gold.
14K is 58% pure gold.
18K is 75% pure gold.
22K is 91% pure gold.
Gold Filled
A layer of gold has been bonded by fusing. A standard practice is to clad the base with 10 % of the gold. Therefore the results are 5% of the metal is pure gold and we will see the mark of 1/20 GF.

Intricate buttons Circa 1860 to1900 are set in the center of our One of A Kind necklaces complimented by gemstones. There are quite a few different kinds of materials the buttons we are using are made of: Black Glass ,Brass buttons enhanced with faceted steel-cut, Mother of Pearl buttons with metal frame, Fabric background buttons(were used for perfume), Celluloid trimmed with metal and more. The button’s design varies. Some are decorative and some are pictorial some are floral. Common to all buttons is the amazing workmanship.

Peridot
